Conference: Whole Women, Whole Leaders, Whole Systems, Whole World™

  • Holyoke Community College 303 Homestead Ave Holyoke, MA 01040 United States (map)

“Whole Woman, Whole Leaders, Whole Systems, Whole World™” is a global women's conference. Through a global lens, we will consider the Whole Woman and her impact on leadership, the systems that we work and live in, and her impact on the world. We will focus on Gender as a Social Determinant of Women's Health and Well-being, The Economic Security of Women, and the intersections. My belief is that Whole Women create a Whole World and a Whole World is where people not only feel but are indeed seen, heard, valued, safe, matter, and thrive. Whole Women shape our systems where this is our shared agreement from where we create, live, and lead. Organizational and global change begins with us and ripples out into the world. If the “Moonshot” is a Whole World, then it first starts with us–as we explore the being of a Whole Woman.

Mission

What: Our purpose is to make an impact on humanity by ensuring wellbeing and positive life experiences through heart centered personal, societal, and global transformation.

Who: Women who don't necessarily view themselves as leaders or recognize themselves as leaders yet still have a social impact on the world. They are leading from the seat of where they are and have a strong effect on spaces that they share. Oftentimes they may not fully understand the impact that they're having, slow down long enough to see it, nor are they acknowledged (by themselves or others) for having it. Many women don't have the whole alphabet behind their names (CEO, CFO, Ph.D., etc) yet make measurable change.

Purpose

Why: Studying leadership and leadership development, organizational effectiveness and development, and organization culture through a global and systems lens for over 25 years; working with supervisors, managers, teams, and leaders that span conservatively 30+ countries, I got tired of seeing the norm being toxic systems and fear based leadership. I saw the negative impact that these systems have on the mental and emotional health and well-being of human beings. I wanted to facilitate a Whole World–one that is comprised of Whole Systems. Whole Systems are where people are seen, heard, valued, safe, matter, and thrive. Starting with the individual woman, her role as a Whole Leader creates Whole Systems, and with enough of these Whole Systems she has the opportunity to collaboratively create a Whole World.

US businesses are losing a trillion dollars annually on voluntary employee turnover. And, 75% of voluntary employee turnover is due to leadership. As it has been found that people do not quit their jobs they quit their bosses (who are responsible for shaping the systems and spaces that we share). “Whole Woman, Whole Leaders, Whole Systems, Whole World™” is the answer.
